If you care about human dignity this web page will have you seeing red .... much like the infrared camera at left does.  It can see your body heat in the dark.  All Scientology installations ALWAYS have way too much security but Big Blue is especially Orwellian.  In the gallery below you'll see images of over forty different cameras in a one or two block radius in Hollywood California at L. Ron Hubbard Way.  There is literally no escape from being seen and heard when you are on their property.

Believe it or not I did my best not to take more than one photo of each camera, floodlight, motion sensor or keypad. Yet there are dozens and dozens of photos.  Plus they have up to four bike mounted guards and foot security.  And this is not even counting the hidden microphones which must be present, or the indoor cameras and mikes which are probably even more common than the outdoor ones.  They even have cameras in their talk therapy rooms (often hidden in picture frames and smoke detectors) to record cultists innermost secrets and use them to blackmail the cultists later if they try to leave.  It is even believed that great leader David Miscavige can watch these therapy sessions live from an office at cult HQ Gold Base in Riverside, CA.  

In George Orwell's famous novel 1984 people are trapped in a totalitarian state which even has cameras in their homes to watch their every move.

The cameras come in several kinds:  pole mounted and spherical cam housings can rotate, older boxy camera enclosures are fixed and point at one area.  License plate scanners are very high tech.  Infrared cameras use a ring of jewel like LEDs to project infrared spotlights into the viewing area so they can see you at night.  These cameras appear red in photos but not to the naked eye. That's because my camera can see the infrared output of their cameras even though I cannot.

Why does a church need to spy on everyone and everything all the time?  Firstly the security system provides blackmailable information about Scientologists. It lets them punish Sea Org members seen on camera misbehaving.  It gives them a sense of power over others. A sense of all-knowingness. It monitors protesters should they ever break the law (they don't).  It can spot cultists trying to flee (blow) and the bike guards can pedal after them.  Why else would there be motion detectors on the roof right under the RPF slave housing?

But the main reason they have so much security, is that they are ASTOUNDINGLY PARANOID!

This power does not come for free.  It takes a lot of time, money and expertise to maintain these networks and monitor their output.  In some places you can see very old cameras working right next to very new ones.  That is the case with the camera above.  This obsessive paranoia also drains the organization by throwing up endless roadblocks thanks to too much security. Many times I have seen flustered cultists unable to work their security door because they are so nervous around protesters. I am more than happy to capture their frustration on video with MY camera. And their days are spent constantly swiping ID cards and typing in passwords and codes.
